Getting to know Kortney

1. Do you have allergies/asthma/eczema/immune disease? Elaborate!

I have multiple food allergies (including anaphylaxis), OAS, asthma, and eczema. Check out my full list of allergies on my blog Allergy Girl Eats. 2. Why did you choose to be a part of The Itch?

When I met Dr Gupta, I couldn't believe how much I learnt from hanging out and chatting with her in such a short period. Our casual conversations about allergies and asthma were invaluable to me, and I knew that other folks like could totally benefit from hearing these things, and so did Dr G!

I am also a bit of a science geek when it comes to my conditions and want to know as much as possible, so as much as you are learning from the podcast so am I!

3. What's your day job?

I do social media management and content creation - you can learn more about my day job if you give Episode 3 a listen (coming out March 13). 4. You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

I would want to be purple, but I know that my soul ooozes teal - gotta represent the food allergy folks! 5. What is something you like to do the old-fashioned way?

I like to make bread by hand. There is nothing like actually kneading bread and feeling the texture change. When I'm lazy, I may use a stand mixer, but if I have the time, I will make it by hand.

6. What do you bring with you everywhere you go?

As someone this allergies and asthma I always, ALWAYS, have my Epipen, Emerade, Inhaler, and antihistamines one me. I also like to have wipes and my allergy cards. You can see everything I carry on me in this post about my allergy first-aid kit. 7. What is your karaoke song?

My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas. I think it would be fun to perform both Fergie and Will-I-Am. 8. What is your favorite thing to snack on?

Oh, man depends on my mood. I like cheese or maybe some cookies. I just made a batch of honey chocolate chip cookies, so those hehe. 9. What are you currently reading?

I am taking on Infinite Jest this year! I tried it once and am trying it again, this time it is going much better. I am also reading the latest National Geographic in between (I take great pleasure in reading it cover to cover). 10. Your top 3 podcasts.
